March 2012 : Partnership with France Active’s Fonds de confiance
The Fondation VINCI pour la Cité has initiated a partnership with the France Active association’s Fonds de confiance programme to accompany social company start-ups. The VINCI Foundation thus agreed to co-finance five feasibility studies each year, in addition to the support provided by the Fonds de Confiance. Two projects aiming at creating integration enterprises have already been selected as part of this partnership: a recycling center in Paris carried by the association La Réserve des Arts, and a caterer producing cooked meals made with organic products delivered to individuals in Seine-Saint-Denis, carried by the social integration group Vitamine T. Each of these projects benefit from the support of two VINCI sponsors.
March 2012 : 47th Selection committee: 24 new projects supported!
This 27 March, the VINCI Foundation Selection Committee chose 24 new projects. In line with how the VINCI Foundation has habitually operated, 16 projects were selected involving 28 VINCI sponsors: four social integration enterprises, seven social integration workshops one of which specialised in mobility aid, a sheltered workshop, a neighbourhood socio-educational association, a social grocery store, a housing access assistance association, and a social organisation association. These projects are all located in France. Eight neighbourhood associations were also selected for support as part of the Cité Solidaire programme in Grenoble.

March 2012 : Grenoble "Cité solidaire" call for projects: eight associations selected

Launched in 2010, the Cité solidaire programme aims to strengthen the VINCI Foundation's support for small associations working to foster social ties in the heart of disadvantaged neighbourhoods in France: 36 projects have received support to date in four cities in the Paris area (Argenteuil, Saint-Denis, Sarcelles and Vitry-sur-Seine) and in Tourcoing (in the Nord region). The programme's sixth call for projects led to awarding eight associations in the city of Grenoble (Isère) in March 2012 to develop new projects or improve actions already undertaken in the Villeneuve neighbourhood, which is known for its social crises. All of these initiatives have a direct impact on the people who live in the neighbourhood by fostering their social and professional integration or strengthening social ties. In line with the Foundation's operating principles, the partnerships undertaken are dual: financial support with the endowment of a total envelope of €100,000 paid to Grenoble associations to allow their development; and human support with the mobilisation of the skills of employees from all Group enterprises operating locally.

February 2012 : Solidarity organic market gardens along motorways

Since 2009, the VINCI Group and VINCI Foundation have been involved in an innovative partnership with the Cocagne Network and government to create a new tool in the effort to end social exclusion in rural areas : the opening of social integration organic market gardens along motorways in the VINCI Autoroutes network. This is a two sided experience : a social one, by giving rural regions a new social integration tool for people without access to employment ; and an environmental one, by adding value to neglected areas along motorways by using them to produce organic vegetables. Three gardens currently serve as social integration workshops in central and southern regions of France, and studies are currently underway on three new gardens.

January 2012 : The Foundation is continuing to internationalise

Begun in 2007, the internationalisation of the VINCI Foundation has can be seen in the creation of three sister foundations, one in the Czech Republic (2008), one in Germany (2010), and then one in Greece in 2011. The common thread to these foundations is fighting exclusion. In order to be effective, each foundation adapts its intervention methods and selection criteria to the socioeconomic context in which it intervenes. Since 2008, 49 projects have already been supported. New foundations will be created in 2012, starting in Belgium and Slovakia.
